Is Imael Angel AI? What We Know About the Bad Times Song
A sourced look at who is behind Bad Times, the release date, what Songfacts says about AI tools and what is still unclear, plus how the trend uses the song.
People searching "Is Imael Angel AI?" usually want to know whether the Bad Times artist is a real person and whether the song was made with AI. This guide sticks to what published sources say, names where each claim comes from, and marks what is not confirmed.
What is publicly known
Bad Times is a deep house single by Imael Angel. Deezer lists it as a one-track release dated 30 March 2026 on the label Imael Angel Records, with a running time of about 2 minutes 48 seconds and Bernadett Gango as composer.
Songfacts
describes Imael Angel as the stage name of Bernadett Gángó, a Hungarian Reiki master and songwriter who writes spiritual lyrics. The same page says she uses AI tools to develop those lyrics into full songs, and that the track entered the UK Singles Chart at number 97 for the week dated 29 September 2026.
What is not clear
The sources we could check do not say exactly how AI was used on Bad Times. Songfacts does not state whether AI produced the melody, the production or the vocals. Deezer's album page does not mention AI at all. Some blogs and forums go further and name specific music generators, but those claims are not backed by an artist statement we could verify, so treat them as unconfirmed.
Songfacts itself is a fan-maintained trivia site, and its entry gives no sources for its claims. That is why this page says "Songfacts reports" rather than stating these points as settled fact.
How to judge for yourself
Check the artist's own channels and the credits on streaming platforms, which list the writer and composer. Be careful with confident answers on forums and in comment sections: AI-music questions attract guesses. If an artist has not said how a track was made, the honest answer is that it is unknown.
How the trend uses the song
The song took off when creators started pairing it with a comedy argument: someone mimes a heated dispute with whoever is filming. The extended version of the track is the one most creators use. Pets in the argument role, often made with AI video tools, became a common format. The trend does not depend on whether the song was made with AI, only on the hook.
Make your own Bad Times video
If you came for the trend rather than the trivia, you can make the argument video from a single photo. Upload a selfie or a picture of your dog or cat on the Bad Times template, download the clip and add the song from your platform's sound library. See also the Bad Times song page, the dog version and the cat version.
Where to find the lyrics
We do not reproduce lyrics on this site. Use the artist's official channels or a licensed lyrics service. Songfacts describes the song's theme as keeping your self-worth through hard times.
